Thank you Head Start for giving my daughter such valuable preparation for school! Two weeks after she began kindergarten, she was tested to advance into first grade. She aced the assessments – scoring as high as 3rd and 4th grade levels in some areas. The principal complimented me on my daughter’s heightened ability to learn and her ability to negotiate the classroom setting effortlessly. As a single mama of four small children, I can hardly take all of the credit for her success – it’s due, largely, to her Head Start experience. YOU “filled in” on those important things I just didn’t have the time to teach her. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
My son attended Head Start when he was 4 years old. It was extremely beneficial in helping to build tools to deal with his ADHD. His teachers were caring, understanding and wonderful. I would recommend this program to any underprivileged family as by the time he entered kindergarten, he knew all the letters of the alphabet, beginning sounds and how to write his name. Love this program! Suzanne J: Lehi, UT
I currently have my daughter enrolled in Mountainland Head Start. She absolutely loves it and can't wait to attend school each day. She is learning how to make new friends and lots of things to help prepare her for Kindergarten. I also had my son attend Head Start a few years ago and we had a very positive experience with him as well. Both of my children enjoy going to school and love reading and learning. Head Start is a wonderful school for us since financially we weren't able to afford sending our children to any other preschool. We have loved participating in the program!!! Laura C. Orem, UT
My name is Adriana and I live in American Fork. My husband and my three boys all of whom have been in Head Start (my youngest is still in for another year) love the Head Start program. The teachers are wonderful, they make learning so much fun, very well organized, and with fun field trips. The teachers are very good at keeping the parents involved and informed on how my boys are doing on a personal and education level. My boys were all extremely picky eaters, but with the schools wide range of foods, my boys have tried and loved all sorts of foods and fruits that they wouldn't eat at my house. They have learned table manners as an added bonus. Also all the different educational letters and parent learning nights have given me much needed information. It feels like one big family there from the teachers to the family advocates, they all know and remember me and my family. They do a wonderful job of helping the parents be included in our children’s education.
Both of my Grandson's attended Mountainland Heat Start. It was such a positive experience for them as well as for myself. I am a grandparent raising two young boys; with the transition of becoming a parent again, they were so supportive. Both boys did great they developed social skills, as well as advancement into kindergarten. I developed such a great admiration for this program. The staff, teachers and aides really care about the kids and want to see them succeed.
